About Oak Tree NMT
The Oak Tree Neighbourhood Management Team (NMT) was established in 2004 on the Oak Tree Lane Estate in Mansfield after being identified as eligible for Neighbourhood Renewal funding due to statistics showing the area was one of the most deprived in the country.
They are a non-political umbrella group for community groups, local service providers and elected members from both District and County to get together, pass information between their respective organisations and work on the local action plan to improve the estate. They also produce the local newsletter, this website.
Since they were established the NMT have funded various projects and initiatives with NRF funding such as Community Caretakers, the local newsletter, local school’s breakfast and after school clubs, educational equipment such as electronic white boards, school holiday activities, the Credit Union and local art projects.
Their funding has come from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (NRF) and Working Neighbourhoods Fund (WNF) and they have two paid members of staff – a Neighbourhood Coordinator and a Volunteer Coordinator, funded by the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Grant. The rest of the committee are all volunteers.
