Well this is the first time I have blogged so here goes . Firstly I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope that on the estate it will be a year of great opportunity for all of us. We have already many established groups who are volunteering to make a difference to the lives of others and make Oak Tree a great place to live.

There are many projects being started and discussed, a new children’s park and repairs to the existing one. A MUGA, skate board area.  Charity shop/internet cafe, community garden and the change over to gas on the estate, to name but a few.

I would also like to say a big thank you to all the groups and residents who have made me feel very welcome and helped me settle in to my role as Neighbourhood Co-ordinator for Oak Tree NMT over the last seven months. It is a pleasure getting to know you all.

I think together we can truly make big changes happen and without your support and long term commitment to the estate this wouldn’t be possible.

I wish everyone the best of luck in 2012 and if you have any ideas you would like me to have a look at, gaps in provision,  funding bids that we can collaborate and work together on please contact me anytime and I will reply to your emails, or drop into Barrow Hill Community Link for a cup of tea where I am based Monday – Wednesday.
